This paper provides an analysis of recent human field-of-view search performance experiments performed by the Night Vision Laboratory. The experiments used trained subjects in examining simulated infrared imagery and employed in the 4B experiment an eye-tracker to enable monItoring the subjects search process. The data will be analyzed in the context of a recently proposed extension of the standard or 'classical' human search model, called 'the neoclassical model.' The purpose of the analysis is to determine whether or not the assumptions underlying the neoclassical model and its detailed conclusions can be verified in actual experimental data. pg15. JMD.
