Abstract:

The Parents Guide is where you ll find out what's going on in schools today and hear some of the key issues being discussed from the parents point of view. In this programme, presenter Fiona and two parents, together with education consultant Christine Ryan, discuss making progress in secondary schools. They review some Teachers TV programmes and see how the issue of pupil progress is being addressed by teachers, pupils and parents. They discuss how schools can help pupils during their first days of secondary school, how can teachers address boys low achievement, what is personalised learning, when should pupils opt for vocational experience and how can you support your child's progress at school. Their spirited debate is enlighting for both teachers and parents.
