Abstract:

Consists of selected papers of Edward T. Chase, primarily correspondence and editorial files documenting Chase's career as an editor at various publishing companies (1964-1994) and as a freelance writer and editor (until 2002). There is also a small amount of material relating to the Chase family's connections to the artist's colony in Woodstock, N.Y., including a 1904 letter by Chase's father, the American painter and illustrator Edward Leigh Chase (1894-1965), to his own mother, containing pen-and-ink drawings.
