This book provides an account of the nature and extent of sex crime and offending in contemporary Britain, and the policies and legislative actions taken to combat this. Sex offenders have become 'demonised' figures, which has made it essential to explain the phenomena and to formulate appropriate policies and law. This second edition builds upon the successful first edition, and is revised and expanded to reflect the many developments which have taken place in this field. The book now covers both criminal justice approaches to sexual offending and the civil processes towards greater protectio.
