Tarbell; notes; interviews of Lipton, 1960-1968, conducted by Tal Streeter, Karlis Osis, Dorothy Seckler and Sevim Fesci; a book, "Art as Experience," by John Dewey, Minton, Balch & Company, New York, 1934, heavily annotated by Lipton; and other printed material, 1927-1988 (3 ft.), including magazines, museum and gallery bulletins, clippings, exhibition announcements and catalogs; subject files, 1954-1984, containing letters, printed material, business records and writings on Lipton's films "Archangel" and "Sculpture by Lipton," the Jewish Museum, Marlborough-Gerson Gallery, and the Mint Museum.
Also included are audio visual material, 1949-1972 (1 ft.), including two 16mm motion picture films "Archangel" and "Sculpture by Lipton," produced by Nathan Boxer; a 16mm film "Twin Pines Camp"; two 8mm film of Lipton's sons, 3 video tapes of Lipton in his studio and his family, 3 unidentified taped interviews, and 4 phonograph albums, including 1 of the Mike Wallace program and 3 entitled "Famous artists at work"; and photographs, slides and negatives (1.5 feet) of art works, portraits of Lipton, the Lipton family, Lipton in his studio, and Lipton with his art works. Also included is the book "Art As Experience," by John Dewey, (New York: Van Rees Press, 1934) heavily annotated by Lipton.
