Bright eyes: Shirley is the little darling of a group of aviators, who splits her time between her pilot godfather, Loop, and her long-suffering mother, a housemaid for a selfish, wealthy family. When a tragic accident leaves Shirley orphaned, Loop sets out to adopt Shirley-- until he learns he's not the only one determined to keep the adorable youngster. Dimples: A little girl with nothing but tiny dimples and a huge amount of talent makes her way from poverty to potential stardom. Heidi: Story of a girl sent to live with her hermit grandfather in the Alps, where her influence reconciles her grandfather to the town. Then her aunt takes her away from the grandfather she has come to love, to live in Frankfurt as the companion of a crippled girl whom Heidi encourages to try walking again.
