Abstract:

This collection consists of records of, and collected items about, the Simplex Manufacturing Corporation in New Orleans, La. Included are typed business correspondence and orders, original motorcycle parts design drawings, pencilled notes and drawings, mimeographed parts lists, advertisements, promotional brochures, biographical information, clippings and sections of trade journals, and other printed items. An autographed booklet is included by Gary L. Wollard, titled: Simplex Servi-Cycle, 1935-1960, America's premier lightweight motorcycle. David C. Treen wrote the preface to this booklet, autographed this copy, and is featured in a photograph along with his brother, John Speir Treen, and the author. Photocopies are included.
