|Notes:||The Charles Donald O'Malley Prize in Medical History was awarded annually, 1988-2001, for the best unpublished essay on a medico-historical subject written by a student then enrolled in the UCLA School of Medicine. The prize served to honor the memory of UCLA's distinguished medical historian, and to encourage an interest in the history of medicine among medical students. It was made possible through the support of the Ahmanson Foundation. The prize consisted of a medal and monetary honorarium; each honorable mention awardee received a certificate and an honorarium.
