Abstract:

Savvy and brilliant, archaelolgist Emma Fielding is on the cusp of the most important discovery of her career! Excavating in a small coastal town in Maine, the soon-to-be-tenured professor and her diligent students unearth a coin that is evidence of a 17th century English settlement. Then the dig comes to a screeching halt when a cadaver washes up nearby, and Emma's friend Pauline, who owns the land they are working on, perishes in a suspicious fire. Pauline recently changed her will in Emma's favor, sparking resentment among Emma's colleagues and relatives and the town's busybodies. Naturally, she becomes the prime suspect and quickly turns from archeologist to amateur sleuth, trying to unearth the killer among the relics. Who's the culprit out to inter the project, her career - and possibly Emma?
