Abstract:

Formed in 1979 by John Williams, with Herbie Flowers, keyboardist Francis Monkman, drummer Tristan Fry, and Australian guitarist Kevin Peek, Sky successfully melded the worlds of classical music and rock instrumentals. Blending arrangements of classical pieces with new material by Monkman, Peek, and Flowers, Sky was an immediate worldwide success. Their first album, showcased during their sell-out debut European tour, achieved platinum sales in the U.K. and across Europe and Australia, securing a loyal fan base that continues to follow the band decades later. This 1980 full-length live performance was filmed in Bremen, Germany.
