Abstract:

Billy McDonald, a struggling young artist, and Patsy Peters, an actress who is the daughter of a wealthy soap manufacturer, want to marry, but the artist's rich, old uncle objects to his nephew marrying an actress. In a scheme to win over the uncle, the young woman poses as a Quaker; the old uncle falls in love with her, and he gives her what he thinks is a pre-nuptial $5,000 check for their elopement. She escapes with the check to her home where her father and the artist have become inebriated and are playing with soap in the bathroom. Soon the entire house is full of soap suds, and the young couple gets married in a cloud of suds.
