Kotzebue, titled: Aufenthalt zu San Franzisko. "Chamisso's narrative first appeared in volume I of his works (pages 175-200), published in Leipzig in 1836. The portion relating to San Francisco, translated by Georgie McElroy, appeared in volume X, number 3, of the Overland monthly (March 1873), and this translation was republished, with certain changes and corrections, in A.C. Mahr's The visit of the Rurik to San Francisco in 1816 (Stanford University Press, 1932)"--P. iv. Preface by Oscar Lewis. "Two hundred and fifty copies printed by the Grabhorn Press for the Book Club of California in December MCMXXXVI." Letterpress printed.
