Abstract:

In this final book of the Genesis Trilogy, L'Engle brings her creative energies to bear on the story of Bible character Joseph, who through God's leading, triumphed through a lifetime of trying circumstances and tests of practical ethics.

Notes:

by love2quilt03 (WorldCat user on 2006-10-18)

Joseph was spoiled by his father and thus resented by his brothers. This is a look at the family life of the descendants of Abraham and Isaac. The story is a familiar one but it is told through each family member, telling of a culture of blessed sons, the role of women in early Hebrew times and becoming God's people. The story relates to the authors' personal losses and experiences of growing in love. Very similar to The Red Tent in giving a first hand look at these times.
