Abstract:

Initial and follow-up interviews show a real case-Kelly, age 10, is doing poorly in school due to difficulty in concentrating following recent accidents and health problems in his family. We see Gerald's five-step process of setting goals, posing the hypothetical miracle question, rating problem level, identifying successes in handling the problem, and preparing a message to help overcome obstacles to success. The second interview identifies behavior changes and reinforces improvements. Teachers and family report amazing changes in a short time.
