提要：	The behavior and ecology of harlequin ducks (Histrionicus histrionicus)on McDonald Creek in Glacier National Park, Montana, were studied during the 1973-1976 breeding seasons. Pairs were formed prior to arrival on the breeding grounds in early May. Harlequins confined nearly all activities to swiftly running waters, but also used stretches of abandoned stream-channel. Pairs were not territorial; home ranges were linear and consisted of approximately 1 to 2 km of stream habitat.Considerable overlap of home ranges occurred, especially at favored feeding sites.
