This is a wonderful book written by a wonderful woman. The author has helped to make history that is very important to every American citizen and as such should be held in very high esteem! Sara manages to introduce humour into what could otherwise possibly be a dry account of the very high number of people involved in getting astronauts into outer space and onto the moon.
Yes, this is an amazing account of a very intelligent woman who was one of the priviledged allowed to work on such high security projects as getting astronauts into outer space and what an achievement this has been not only for America but for the world.
In fact I think this book should be in every school and part of the curriculum of students learning about their history and how proud they can feel to read about this woman and how inspired they can be to aspire to great heights in their own careers.
The book is written well, it has so much information and flows very well. It is wonderful to be able to share in the authors humour as she imparts stories from her experiences. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did and will encourage others to read it. This is history in the making!!!!

A Funny Look at Apollo

I don't think I have ever read such a witty and enjoyable account of our race to the moon. This book is very different from all the others I have read. Having strong, accomplished and intelligent women in our family, I couldn't wait to read this book. Sara has a sharp wit and I was laughing out loud when one of my sisters asked why was I laughing. I told my family and they all read this book.
I have loved Apollo from the time I was in grade school and I have a model of the Saturn V rocket in my den. I never knew that there were women who worked as engineers on the Saturn V. Sara explains how sending men to the moon was accomplished. She was one of 400,000 people.
There are facts about Apollo that I did not know. Some are the contractors, the assembly plants, the Naval recovery ships and more. There were sad things, too. But this narrative just sings of Sara's joy in being a part of this great endeavor--the incredible feat of landing on the moon and coming home safely.
This is a short and easy book to read with no confusing equations, physics explainations or engineering details which bore me to distraction. I read it in one day.
I recommend this book most highly to anyone who would like to read a funny account of Apollo.

When I read this book, I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting something
very technical with complex equations, intricate diagrams and stories about
the Astronauts. There is none of that. Instead, this book details the work
of the 400,000 dedicated people who sent men to the moon. They were Americans
who reached for the heavens and achieved the greatest feat in the history
of mankind. They changed the world forever.
