Ken Burn's Baseball documentary introduced Negro League player and manager Buck O'Neil to many Americans, including myself. Posnanski's book gives us a better glimpse into O'Neil's positive outlook on life. The book also deals with the slap in the face Major League Baseball gave to O'Neil by denying him a place in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006. The Soul of Baseball is a very inspiring read.
