Describes the conflict between Catholic Philip II of Spain and the Protestant Queen Elizabeth I of England. In May 1588 Philip launches the Spanish Armada, an invincible fleet of 130 ships to conquer English shores. The English overcome the far larger Spanish fleet by using fireships.
