Abstract:

Kierkegaard is not easy to read. His complicated personality, reflected in the wide variety of styles he used and in the great number of personae he invented, constantly mystifies the reader and erects barriers for him. Once familiar with Kierkegaard's indirect method of presentation, however, readers often find his works both exhilarating and rewarding. The intention of this book is to provide an introduction to his changing moods and to the various modes of his thought and writing.
