Aims to cover completely the horicultural flora of the continental United States and Canada and to include the moreoutstanding species grown in a horticultural way in Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and the other islands. The last volume includes supplementary articles, a finding list of binomials, and a general index.
Special features to be noted are: (1) the very comprehensive inclusion of American native plants, trees, and shrubs, which makes the work useful for questions in botany; (2) the full indexing of illustrations, both black-and-white and colored, included in many other works (e.g., in periodicals and collections).
