Abstract:

"The making of paper is the story of man's desire to communicate his throughts to others. From the pre-historic cave dwellers to the scholar of today, man has felt the urge to leave behind him written records of of his thoughts, his deeds and his world. With his increasing ability to express himself came his search for better writing material. This serach led from papyrus bets of ancient Egypt to our modern paper mills. The evolution of paper is graphically described here in a manner that will appeal to both child and adult readers."
