This is agreat book on LES combustion modeling methodology for reciprocating internal combustion engines. The literature is extensive on modeling development. Author also discussed current state of research on advanced combustion strategies including low temperature combustion for diesel and dual fuels. A through description on turbulent combustion modeling is given. In other chapters outlines in details authors PhD research on LES modeling methodology and how it was integrated with combustion modeling to investigate engineering application. In chapter 5, author discusses interesting strategy to effectively do combustion mode switch (from low temperature combustion to traditional combustion and vice versa). Overall this is good read for current and future researchers on LES combustion modelers and diesel combustion researchers alike.
