Abstract:

Cooper's study collection of photographs was assembled between 1933 and his death in 1984. Since the market for Cubist art was largely untapped when he began, he was able to gather together a high quality, tightly focused collection. The photographic collection reflects his success. The bulk of the material represents nineteenth and twentieth-century European painting.
