An excellent bedtime story of a boy who hates light switches because he is afraid of the dark. One day the boy meets a child named Dark who teaches the boy that light switches are the way to "turn on the night" and encourages him to appreciate the noises of the crickets and frogs and the light of the stars in the heavens. The boy overcomes his fear of the darkness. The artwork is unique with cut-through views of the house and many black background pictures of the shining stars and figures of the crickets and frogs. Recommend this one with good color illustrations to K - 3 students, as well as parents and teachers.
