Woodcut printer's device of John Haviland on t.p. of heart aflame within a wreath (McKerrow 392); on t.p. of "New Atlantis": motto "Tempore patet occulta veritas" in a circular band around woodcut depiction of Time bringing forth Truth from a cave to light, "this appended work perhaps printed by Mathewes," known to use this device (McKerrow 312).
