Abstract:

July 24, 2001, Sri Lanka. Most of the country's civilian and military planes have been destroyed by terrorists. By the time the attack is over, eight of them have been killed by the security forces. But they have dealt yet another devastating blow on a country already reeling from 18 years of unrelenting terrorism - the assassination of leading politicians, the massacre of helpless villagers, massive city center truck bombs, and the bombing of holy temples. The people behind the violence are the Tamil Tigers.
