Series Title: Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum archive series.

Abstract:

Looks at the professional and private life of American country music legend Tammy Wynette. Includes archival footage and interviews with family, friends, colleagues, music industry insiders and a historian.

This DVD includes rarely-seen TV performances of her top hits, plus 2 unreleased mid-80s interviews, wedding footage, and Country Music Hall of Fame induction, tracing the rise of one of country music's finest performers. George Jones appears on 4 tracks. Tammy Wynette will always be the "First Lady of Country Music," a tough southern girl with a voice (and a life) filled with heartache. Compiled by the Country Music Hall of Fame, this entry in the Legendary Performances series presents rare concert footage of the working class heroine, singings her massive hits such as "Stand By Your Man," "D-I-V-O-R-C-E," and "We Loved It Away," alongside then-husband George Jones. Bonus features include coverage of Wynette's induction into the Hall of Fame, and two interviews from the 1980s.
