Young Adult bookshelves these days are filled with zombies, vampires and aliens. It’s high time we got back to the basics: good old fashioned murder! Ten is such a story. Teenagers on a private island at an exclusive, secret house party and guess what, there is a killer on the loose. Ten brings an interesting take on the murder mystery; complete with creaky boards, suspicious characters and teenage drama. The writing has a nice pace and the characters, though typical, are fun to watch. I think any teen who likes a taut, gripping story will really enjoy this book. My only complaint is that the main characters, Meg and Minnie, get confused easily in my mind because their names are so similar. And there are a lot of characters in this book to keep track of… at least at the beginning of the story. Bwahahaha!
