Abstract:

Director Stanley Donen, best known for directing films including Singin' in the rain, Bedazzled and Charade, discusses his latest theater project, Elaine May's Adult entertainment, with Theater talk co-hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins. The play is about a group of porno stars who discover higher intellectual pursuits, inspired by May's encounter with adult programming on public access television. Donen discusses his collaboration with May, and elaborates on his career in film and on Broadway, where he performed in such productions as Pal Joey and Best foot forward under producer George Abbott.
