Abstract:

Actors Sir Ian McKellen, Helen Mirren and David Strathairn talk with Theater talk co-hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins. The performers are all appearing on Broadway in August Strindberg's 1900 classic modern drama, Dance of death. They elaborate on this complex, harrowing psychological drama about a disturbed marriage, and its playwright's life and career.

Also on the program is director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell. Mitchell recently staged a new I love New York commercial, featuring an estimated 500 Broadway performers gathered on Duffy Square in the Broadway theater district. It is hoped the commercial will inspire audiences to support New York City and its theaters.
