Abstract:

"It's a birthday she'll never forget. Shirley Jones, popular singing star and Academy Award-winning actress, thinks she's taping a promotional spot for her TV show, The Partridge family, when Ralph Edwards drops in to wish her a happy birthday. That's the cue for the doors to open, the studio audience to enter and Ralph to tell Shirley that tonight, This is your life. Shirley's mother, aunt and uncle are the first to share stories about the young girl from Pennsylvania, along with exclusive home movie footage of a childhood performance. Theatrical agent Gus Schirmer, Jr., actor Cameron Mitchell, movie producer Bernard Smith and venerable Broadway composer Richard Rodgers all pay tribute to Shirley's talent and related the roles they played in her career. Her husband, stage, screen and television star Jack Cassidy, whom she met on a European tour of Oklahoma!, adds humor and warmth to the evening's celebration. Both of her families join Shirley at the end of the show: stepson and Patridge Family co-star David Cassidy and sons Shaun, Patrick and Ryan, plus her TV family, actors Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, Jeremy Gelbwaks and Suzanne Crough"--DVD sleeve,
