Bryan on personal affairs and news of Raleigh; notes of James, brother of G. Hogg, on the medical lectures of Drs. David Hosack and James S. Stringham of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York; accounts of T.D. Hogg, ordnance and commissary officer of North Carolina, 1862-1865; and accounts of a sawmill and a stagecoach line. Later papers are those of Colin M. Hawkins and Janet (Hogg) Hawkins, concerning Hawkins genealogy.
