Green offers his opinions of the letters of Anna Seward; Nathan Drake's Shakespeare and his times; and other publications; as well as asks about the progress of Mitford's own biography of Thomas Gray. He asks Mitford's advice about buying paintings, including several by Hans Holbein; discusses other paintings and art object he as acquired; and shares news of other collectors. The collection also includes a printed title page of Henry Reveley's Notices illustrative of the drawings and sketches of some of the most distinguished masters in all the principal schools of design, accompanied by letters discussing that publication.
