A failed attempt to climb K2 and a desire to pay tribute to his younger sister who died at a far too early age, led Mortenson on an odyssey to build schools for girls in the most rural and poverty-stricken areas of the Himalaya. Education is the key to so many things and many girls were receiving none. Travel with Greg in his book 'Three cups of tea' and meet the citizens of a world so different from the one that we enjoy. Encounter the challenges that Mortenson faced in a pre and post 9/11 world. An inspirational tale of one man's determination to make a difference.
