Cooper's defense against accusations that he attempted, with the aid of Joseph Priestley, to gain a political appointment from John Adams even though he was opposed to Federalist policies.
George Schusler was the only printer active in Northumberland, Pa., after he succeeded Andrew Kennedy as printer and publisher of the Sunbury and Northumberland gazette in July 1799.
