Emily Andrew is earning some much-needed green by navigating the twisting roads of Ireland with a group of seniors, including her beloved Nana. But once the hearty troupe from Iowa lands on Irish sod, trouble starts brewing: there's a death-defying incident with a horse-drawn carriage, and a gender-bending encounter with Emily's ex-husband. and the plot thickens like Irish stew when the group settles into Ballybantry Castle, where a ghost is said to wander the halls.

The second in the "Passport to Peril" mystery series by Maddy Hunter takes the eccentric group of senior citizens from Iowa to a haunted castle in Ireland. Of course, Emily Andrew, their young and attractive tour guide, happens upon a dead body and the zaniness goes on from there. You will find the characters in this story very entertaining and you even might find one that reminds you of one of your relatives. Emily Andrew, even though she runs into one catastrophe after another, perseveres in leading this group until the murderer is discovered. She is a very likeable character and you come to admire her strength and willingness to lead this very unusual group of Iowans. The first book in the series, "Alpine for You" was also an excellent read and I look forward to the next adventures. The author is planning on taking us and her crew to all seven continents as the series develops. This is a must read for those who like "gentle or cozy mysteries".
