Abstract:

It's the year 2084AD. Construction worker Douglas Quaid (Schwarzenegger) is haunted by recurring dreams in which he lives on the planet Mars. A visit to a vacation parlor, where virtual experiences are implanted into people's minds, unlocks deeply suppressed memories. Quaid discovers that he is really a man named Hauser and that Hauser is a senior intelligence agent on Mars which is under the dictatorial rule of Vilas Cohaagen. Quaid eludes the secret police and travels to Mars where he is reunited with his former lover Melina. Together they must oppose Cohaagen's henchmen and dicover the mysteries of an ancient and alien civilization hidden in the planet's core.
