Abstract:

An incomplete set consisting of stereograph photographs created and distributed by the Keystone View Company documenting places and peoples around the world, ca. 1929. Each stereograph card has a detailed discussion of the image subject matter printed on its verso. In addition to specific places, subject matter of the images include street scenes, natural landscapes, cities, religious buildings, portraits of individuals and groups, water vessels, and animals.

Places identified in continent on the of Europe include Orsova, Romania; Sofia, Bulgaria; and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in addition to Athens and Sparta, Greece.

Places in the South West Asia include Constantinople (Istanbul), Turkey; Baghdad, Iraq; and Damascus, Syria, in addition to the Tiberias, Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem, in Palestine (Israel).

Places in Africa include Cairo, Memphis, and Thebes in Egypt; in addition to Victoria Falls, Rhodesia; and Cape Town, South Africa.

Places in South Asia include Agra, Calcutta (Kolkata), Madura, Mount Abu, Jaipur, and Delhi, India; and Mandalay, Burma (Myanmar).

Places in Southeast Asia include Luzon Island, Legazpi, and Manila, Philippines; in addition to Java, Indonesia.

Places in East Asia include Canton (Guangzhou), Mukden (Shenyang), Suzhou, and Peking (Beijing), China; in addition to Kyoto, Osaka, Mount Fuji, and Shizuoka, Japan; as well as Seoul, Korea.

Places in Oceania include Adelaide, Australia; Milford Sound, New Zealand; and Honolulu (vicinity), Hawaii.

Places in North America include localities in the United States, Canada, and Greenland.

In the western United States places include the San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, and Mount Shasta, California; Mount Hood and Columbia River, Oregon; Seattle and Mount Rainier National Park, Washington; the Arctic Circle, Alaska; Glacier National Park, Montana; Yellowstone National Park; Salt Lake City and Bryce Canyon, Utah; Grand Canyon and Salt River Valley, Arizona; and the Royal Gorge of the Grand Canyon of the Arkansas, near Canyon City, Colorado.

In the central region of the United States places include the Platte River Valley, Nebraska; Palo Duro and Goose Creek, Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Chicago, Illinois; and Detroit, Michigan.

In the eastern United States places include Boston and Lexington, Massachusetts; New Haven, Connecticut; in addition to Niagara Falls and New York City, New York.
