Abstract:

David Brinkley narrates this account of the trial in 1961 in Israel of the infamous Adolph Eichmann held responsible for deporting the Jews of Europe to Nazi concentration camps. It uses videotape of the original trial, interviews with courtroom witnesses, prosecutors, Israeli secret police, politicians and other key participants, and also dramatic readings of transcripts and accounts. Shows the importance of this trial as the first televised trial in history, and its importance to Holocaust survivors as the first trial for crimes against the Jewish people (not war crimes, as were the Nuremburg trials.
