This World War II-era newsreel includes the following segments: 1. Franklin Delano Roosevelt takes the oath of office and delivers the inaugural address at the White House; Harry Hopkins, Secretary and Mrs. Stimson, Secretary and Mrs. Forrestal, Secretary Ickes, Admiral King, Secretary and Mrs. Stettinius, General and Mrs. Marshall, Vice Presidents Wallace and Truman. 2. Demonstration of a sea rescue by a Coast Guard helicopter. 3. A Japanese airbase on Puerto Princesa Island is bombed. 4. Ice breakers clear a path across Lake Michigan and men tie down airplanes on an aircraft carrier during a typhoon. 5. The 38th Infantry Division fights in Burma; General Daniel I. Sultan. (10 minutes).
