The University of Michigan Center for Chinese Studies was founded in 1961. It is one of the most prominent China Centers in the world devoted to the study and understanding of traditional and contemporary China. The Center grants an M.A. degree in Chinese Studies and has a joint M.A./M.B.A. degree with the School of Business Administration. In addition, the Center operates its own scholarly press. Top-quality manuscripts on China, representing many academic disciplines, are solicited from scholars both within and outside the University of Michigan and are selected for publication through a formal process of peer review.
