This title (PCF001) comprises the first of eight groups of discs which contain the digitized version of Fred Wah's entire recording of the 1963 Vancouver Poetry Conference. The conference was held at the University of British Columbia from July 24 to August 16, 1963. At the historic conference, Charles Olson, Robert Duncan, Robert Creeley, Allen Ginsberg, Philip Whalen, Denise Levertov, and Margaret Avison read poems, lectured, held open-forum discussions, and spoke with audience members. The remainder of the conference recordings may be heard on the Poetry Collection's digitized recordings, discs PCF002-008. The complete set runs for a total of 32 hours, 13 minutes, and 30 seconds, and is divided into thirty-one discs.
