Abstract:

A biography of Vanessa Redgrave. Born into an acting dynasty, Vanessa became one of the most critically acclaimed actresses of our time. By the early 1960s she had established herself as a key member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. With her acting career in full swing, Vanessa met director Tony Richardson. They married in 1962 and had two children, Natasha and Joely, both of whom went on to become actesses themselves. Though they eventually divorced, their friendship and professional association continued until his death of AIDS in 1991. In addition to her acting career, Vanessa has been politically conscious most of her life. Redgrave has never failed to speak her mind, even over controversial issues.
