Abstract:

This is a report containing the comments on the case for volunteers in general, extent of their usage, reasons for becoming a volunteer, and use of volunteers in the future. Ongoing programs involving volunteer in the field of corrections are described and evaluated. Letters are included from agencies which have used the services of volunteers. A series of recommendations covers the areas into which corrections might move with the aid of volunteers.
