| Notes: | Apparently a translation of two works published by Cassini; "Voyage en Californie pour l'observation du passage de Vénus sur le disque du soleil, le 3 juin 1769 ... par feu M. Chappe d'Auteroche. Rédigé et publié par M. de Cassini fils. Paris, 1772", and "Voyage fait par ordre du roi en 1768, pour éprouver les montres marines inventées par M. Le Roy. Paris, 1770." Cassini was also the author of the second work: The "Voyage to Newfoundland and Sallee" includes description of the author's visit to the island of Saint Pierre (p. 133-160). Half-title: Voyages to California, Newfoundland, and Sallee. "Natural history of the province of Mexico" (p. [75]-105) has special t.p., caption title: Extract of a letter from Mexico addressed to the Royal Academy of Sciences at Paris, by Don Joseph Anthony de Alzate y Ramyrez ... containing some curious particulars relative to the natural history of the country adjacent to the city of Mexico.
