If I had kids, I would get a copy of this book and leave it around the house for them to find and discover and read at their leisure. This is probably the single best book to explain war to kids, and to the militarily non-inclined adult as well. Good writing, first-rate scholarship. Definitely a book to own. Definitely a book that needs to be read more. I can't recommend it enough.
