Russell Freedman has done it, yet again, a fantastic job of conveying history for young people.  In this account of Washington's winter at Valley Forge Freedman recounts both the actual history, but gives us insight into the emotional components of the men and women involved in this time of history.  The illustrations certainly add to the book's presentation.  Recommended for all levels of libraries.
