Abstract:

In a barbershop in Brooklyn, Dee-Dee admiringly looks at his collection of celebrity women, tacked up on the wall, in all their smooth, silky glory. In his opinion, these women are perfect. That is, of course, until director Jesse Epstein comes along to show him how these women actually become what they are. Via Epstein, computer airbrush and touch-up artists reveal how photographs are manipulated, unveiling the deception that reigns in the marketplace of commercial illusion, while promulgating unrealizable standards of physical perfection to both women and men.
