Abstract:

1999 marked the 20th anniversary of the OCLC Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. As part of a year-long celebration of library cooperation, OCLC and its U.S. regional network affiliates and international distributors sponsored an essay contest. We invited librarians and library users to write essays of 500 words or less on the topic, "What the OCLC Interlibrary Loan Service Means to Me." We offered a grand prize of 1,000 dollars and four prizes of 500 dollars each.
