Not exactly an academic tome but full of advice for "getting ahead" that could also be interpreted as "getting the job done." The author makes the case that women tend to want to please and often a leader needs to take action that will not be interpreted as pleasing. There is very practical advice-- never answer a question with "I don't know," never start a sentence with "I'm not sure." At the same time, honesty is tantamount (but she doesn't answer the conundrum then, what if you don't know?) There is good advice about setting goals, staying focused and attitude, attitude. A quick read. Not exactly wisdom but certainly some pearls.
